Osiris is the God of Divine Law and Nature, and is the name we’ve chosen for our road bike prototypes. We’ve designed and built two versions; the Osiris which is an all-weather training bike, and Osiris SL which is a very light, very comfortable bike designed specifically for Cyclosportifs.

The Request
The customer, an elite-level triathlete needed a training bike. Hewanted the bike to put him in a very similar position as his race bike (which was also and Atum22 creation - Shu) although slightly more relaxed as he would be clocking-up a lot of miles through the winter. The bike needed to be a go-anywhere training machine.

The Solution
The bike has been designed to be very robust to deal with the tough conditions in which it will be ridden, and the components are chosen for reliability rather than their weight. The bike features cyclocross forks with mini V-brakes on the front, which allows the bike to be ridden with off-road cross tyres if he wanted to go off road. The mini V's are provide excellent braking force and are very responsive. The road-style seat and chain stays in the rear triangle of the frame have been formed to allow extra clearance for a cross tyre to be used on the rear wheel, and we've specified long-reach road calliper brakes.

The cockpit is designed with comfort in mind with the ultra-sexy ITM K-Sword, and the new intuitive SRAM Rival groupset to compliment the SRAM Force groupset on Shu. Keeping the rider's position on his race bike in mind this bike features the same saddle, although slightly heavier and more robust. Our own A22 titanium seat post was spec'd for its unparalleled strength and comfort.

Cycleops Power Tap SL2.4 Wireless rear hub allows the rider to collect all the information he could possibly need from his hours our on the road and to analyze it afterwards and help to refine training and improve performance.

As well as a custom engraving on the headtube we have added a sandblasted 'OSIRIS' logo to the tube and a stylised British flag on the headtube. We also added a range of extra bottle-cage bosses on the underneath of the downtube ready to take a crud-catcher and allow a battery to be fitted for those inevitable winter rides in the dark. Osiris also features mudguard bosses and rack eyelets.

The Result
Osiris is a go anywhere training machine and yet it is still a gorgeous looking piece of machinery. The frame weighed in at 1396g and the complete build weighs in at a very respectable 8.2kg which includes the rather heavy Cycleops Powertap rear hub.
