Our services

We have taken every measure to make ourselves stand out as the most customer-centred bike company you can find.

Your Atum22 experience should start before you even make your first visit to our showroom. The prototype bikes described on this website showcase some of the design features which we may consider designing into your bike. The more informed you are about these features and what you want from the bike, the more input you can have into the solution.

Data Collection
Our first meeting with you involves a relaxed chat over a cup of tea about your riding history, fears and aspirations. Throughout this we collect key pointers which will allow us to subtly amend the frame design to favour your style.

We then mark and measure you according to our Atum22 Ergofit protocol- from which we take intricate details from simple thigh length to your functional trunk stability, from your flexibility to your tread width and centre of gravity. This process has been uniquely designed by our Doctor of Chiropractic in consultation with other biomechanics and fitness specialists.

We then take you through your preferred component setup (assuming you are going for a full build option). We advise on what we feel would work best and work hard to source “hard-to-find” solutions to your every cycling need.

At this stage we will ask for a standard deposit of £750.

The Design Phase
Your details are then compiled before being sent onto our designer and our components adviser. The designer uses these details to generate a three-dimensional computer model of you on your bike- which can now be manipulated to produce the optimum ride, handling and power transmission for its intended use. We have had direct input into the development of this software into which we can factor many options such as preferred tyre choice, fork and bar choices, and the effects of these on the handling of your bike.

Our components specialist will meanwhile draw up a list of suggested alternatives to the specifications which have thus far been discussed, and send a précis of how the costs of these would break down.

Before sending off your design for manufacture and ordering the components we send you one final checklist to ensure that you are happy with all of the features.

Watching Dreams become Real
With your ok, we then start manufacture. This process usually takes about three to four weeks, however the complexity of your design will impact upon this. Most of our manufacture is done by a select few manufacturers in China whom we have known for many years and produce the highest quality work to our specifications, however some more specialist tasks are undertaken under our supervision by a UK-based titanium engineering firm.
Back in the our workshop, your bespoke frame is quality-checked, faced and tapped, and double-checked for any shipping damage. We then prepare our custom and durable frame etchings which are not stuck on but are produced by changing the level of polish in the required pattern.
The bike is then ready for build. In the simplest of cases and paying immense attention to detail this may take just one day, however some more complex builds take much longer, so we allow a week for the build phase.

Delivery
Subject to arrangement, we prefer that people attend the showroom for us to triple-check that all is as it should be and you can take your dream bike out for a short test ride.

It is at this point that we take payment of the final balance.

What next?
Well we do invite you back for a 500km/1month tune-up service, and to get an update on how you’ve been getting on. Thereafter you’re on your own, but the peace of mind which our lifetime manufacturer’s guarantee and first owner crash-replacement policy instills should provide good company over the miles!
